Computer classes at Arcadia and MAC

Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and various Microsoft programs — even a beginner’s computer course are part of the schedule for Mineral Area College Continuing Education this spring, both in Park Hills and Arcadia Valley. The classes range in length from two to six weeks, and cost from $45 to $55. All classes are geared for those who are 16 years old and older.

Arcadia Valley Career Technology Center will be the site for a beginner’s computer class (for those age 55 and up), as well as Microsoft programs, all taught by Kathy Waller.

Microsoft Word 2007 will be taught for two weeks at the AV center, Feb. 3 through 12, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5 to 7 p.m. The cost is $45.

Microsoft Excel 2007 will also be taught at the AV center, for two weeks, Feb. 17 through Feb. 26, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5 to 7 p.m. The cost is also $45. Later, Waller will teach Intermediate MS Excel 2007 at the center, March 17 through March 26, 5 to 7 p.m., also for $45.

Waller will hold an introductory course, “Computers Don’t Byte,” from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, for two weeks, April 14 through April 23. The course is geared to those 55 and older, and is $45.

On the Park Hills campus, Beginning Photoshop and Beginning Adobe Illustrator will be taught by Shane Flottmann, who will also teach several art classes this spring through Continuing Education.

Beginning Photoshop will be held for six Wednesdays, Jan. 28 through March 4, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The class is $55.

Beginning Adobe Illustrator, another six-week class, will be held Wednesdays, Jan. 28 through March 4, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The class is also $55.
