Electronics, fishing equipment stolen from home

More than $37,000 in electronics, fishing equipment, jewelry and other items were recently stolen from a home in the 800 block of Stone Gate Drive in the De Soto area, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.

Someone forced open the garage door and stole numerous items, including a Samsung 52-inch, flat-screen TV; a Samsung 40-inch, flat-screen TV; an apple-shaped TV; a Genesis stereo system with speakers; a Toshiba laptop computer; computer speakers; a Wii console and several Wii games; a Playstation 3 console; several watches; 53 knives; two tool boxes filled with tools; six cans of ammunition; girl’s clothing; and about $1,000 in change. In all, the items were valued at about $37,430, the report said.

The victim told deputies that his neighbor called him after noticing his garage door open and a TV missing from his living room, according to the report.

In addition, the neighbor said there was a tube of makeup on the driveway, and the victim said it wasn’t his. So deputies were called to the scene and seized the makeup as evidence, the report said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
