LEADWOOD -- Venita M. Byers of Leadwood passed away January 13, 2003 at her residence, at the age of 78. She was born July 16, 1924 in Leadwood. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Leadwood; Rebekah Lodge; and member of the Mineral Chapter 260 O.E.S.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse James & Beulah (Hulsey) Anderson. 1st husband, Rolla Bradley, 2nd husband, Howard Byers, 2 brothers: Donald and Leslie Anderson.
She is survived by 5 sons: Darrell Bradley (Bonnie) of Frankclay, Charles Byers of Naperville, Ill., Roger Byers (Jeanne) of Park Hills, Grady L. Byers (Ronda) of Irondale, and Mark "JosŽ" Byers (Paula) of Desloge. Daughter, Connie S. (Mrs. Stanley Lucas) of Irondale. 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, brother, Lenard Anderson (Lois Jean) of Gulf Port. Sister, Lorine (Mrs. Luke Teeter) of Kirkwood.
Visitation will be Friday 4 - 8 p.m. at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge, and Saturday, 9 - 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Leadwood. Services are Saturday 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Leadwood, with Rev. Allen David, and Rev. Ed Watson officiating. Interment will be at Leadwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to: First Baptist Church in Leadwood.
