Lady Cards are runner-up in Three Rivers tournament

POPLAR BLUFF - The Mineral Area Lady Cardinals took second place at the Three Rivers Volleyball Tournament on Friday and Saturday. Other teams participating in the tournament were State Fair, Three Rivers, Northwest Shoals from Alabama, and Shawnee Community College. MAC was 4-0 in pool play and also won their semi-final match, which qualified the Lady Cards for the championship match. Although the Lady Cards defeated Northwest Shoals in pool play, Northwest came out on top in three games by the scores of 30-14, 20-30, and 15-10.
Leaders for the Lady Cards were Jessica Wines with 44 kills throughout the tournament, followed by Colleen Crider with 43 and Jane Latu with 42. Jessica Bollinger had a total of 10 service aces. Ali Tyson led in assists with 82 followed by Murdick with 54. Cassidy Wisdom came up with a total of 104 digs.
The Lady Cards are now 21-5. Out of the five losses, two of those losses came from Shawnee and one of the losses from State Fair. The Lady Cards host Lewis and Clark on Wednesday.
