Cardinals triumph at Three Rivers Classic

POPLAR BLUFF - The Mineral Area College Cardinals played two games over the holiday in the Three Rivers Classic and came out winners in both games. On Friday, the Cardinals defeated North Lake, Texas in a battle to the finish, 63-56. On Saturday the Cardinals greeted the New Year with a 105 point performance in beating Dyersburg State, Tennessee which had 71 points.

Saturday's game saw four players score in double figures for Mineral Area. Kenny Burke led the team with 17 points, Curtis Muse followed with 15, Rob Kennedy scored 14, and Ryan Byrne had 12. The Cardinals were 18-22 from the line, and only made three three-pointers in the game to Dyersburg's 10.

The Cardinals, 11-4, will play again in Poplar Bluff this Saturday, this time against the host team Three Rivers.
