ST. LOUIS -- The Lady Cardinals had not won a game in 2005 before Wednesday. In fact, their last win was on December 27 over Dyersburg State, but Wednesday they climbed right back into the win column with a 63-41 win over the Florissant Valley Norsewomen.

The Lady Cardinals came out strong in the first half establishing a 41-20 lead at the half. The Lady Cardinals got into a little foul trouble late in the game, but managed to keep their game intact even with a small bench.

"We just wanted to get out of there without anybody getting hurt," said assistant coach Chris LaBruyere. Mineral Area has had its share of injuries this year.

The Lady Cardinals are now 8-7 and will play next at home on Saturday at 5 p.m. when they will host the Missouri Baptist J.V.'s. The Lady Cardinals will be glad to be home since they have not played on their home court since December 11.
