DE SOTO -- Tuesday, the De Soto Dragons celebrated 'Senior Night' for their basketball season. They also were saying good-bye to 'The Pit', their age old gym, since it was going to be the last varsity game played there. De Soto will have a new gym for next year's games. The visiting Farmington Knights ruined some of the celebration by tying the Dragons at the last second of regulation and then going on to a 60-59 overtime win.
Farmington led most of the way in the game, but when the final seconds were winding down, it was De Soto that held a two-point lead. Farmington missed on their last second shot, but an alert David King made the tip-in to make the score 51-51 as the buzzer sounded sending the game into overtime. Nick Brewer made the winning shot with six seconds to go, and De Soto missed what would have been their 12th three-pointer of the game.
Nathan Clark, for De Soto, led all scorers with 29 points with the aid of six three-pointers. Matt Usherwood led Farmington with 20 points.
Farmington, 20-5, will play their next game in next week's district tournament at Poplar Bluff.
