Knights and Blackcats get soccer wins

IMPERIAL - The Farmington Knights soccer club traveled to Imperial on Tuesday to take on Windsor. The Knights played a strong second half as they triumphed over Windsor 5-1.

Farmington's Dereck DiFabio scored two unassisted goals in the 25th and 78th minute of play. Adam Blum knocked in a goal at the 53rd-minute mark on an assist by Patrick Wulfers. Matt Rhodes scored in the 60th minute as Lucas Vogelsang set up Rhodes for the goal. Vogelsang came through with a goal at the 64th minute and Rhodes had the assist. Windsor scored their only goal at the 49th-minute mark.

The Knights outshot Windsor 15-9. Jordan Pannett recorded eight saves for Farmington.

The Knights will host De Soto on Thursday.

Fredericktown 6, Poplar Bluff 1

FREDERICKTOWN - The Fredericktown Blackcats soccer team opened their Tuesday game against Poplar Bluff with a strong offense. Fredericktown scored their six goals in the first 20 minutes of the contest as the Blackcats defeated Poplar Bluff 6-1.

Dustin Bess found the back of the net three times for a Fredericktown hat trick. Logan Royer, Taylor Fall, and Drew Johnson all chipped in a goal. Fall finished with a pair of assists. Johnson, Logan Stevens, and Roberto Grado all ended the day with an assist. Stevens and Eli Skaggs both made four saves for the Blackcats.

Fredericktown will host De Soto today.
