They broke up for a little while but the band, Ashes of Adrienne is back together and looking for a new drummer.
Ashes of Adrienne are Tyler Smith, lead vocalist; Todd Duckett, rhythm guitar; Jake Cantrell, lead guitarist; and Eric Robinson, bass player.
They’ve already got a name and a reputation. It’s a mixture of metal and pop — best described as “screamo” music.
The band started in December of 2004 with then-high school students, Todd and Tyler and a few others. (Eric and Jake joined in 2005.)
Their first performance was at the Rock House and they were asked to play a show the next night.
They won the 2005 Battle of the Bands at Farmington High School and the New Year’s Battle of the Bands at the Centene Center. They took eighth place at a national competition in Spring of 2006.
They toured the Midwest, gaining lots of fans and played with groups like Bleed the Dream, Tokyo Rose, Kill Hannah, the Calico System, Bandcamp, and Four Letter Lie.
Things were going well for the band. They drove to Los Angeles with a demo in hand and were offered a record deal but later on the band broke up and the deal fell to pieces.
Todd said the four of them got together recently and decided they were too close to having their dreams come true to give up. They got back together and the goal once again is to make a good living off playing music. They all have families to support.
“We’re looking for a drummer,” Todd said. “Then we’ll have a come-back show and record our first full-length album.”
As far as a drummer, these are the requirements posted on their MySpace page: must be well trained and have a knowledge of drum equipment; must be able to play on short notice; be able to tour and play out of state; be a fan of music and love the music he plays; be friendly and great to get along with; and “got to have a great live show.”
