With its stunning visuals and emotional turmoil, “I Am Legend” has to be one of the best movies I have ever seen. Will Smith takes this movie to a whole new level. Yes, it has been done before, but Vincent Price (The Last Man on Earth) and Charlton Heston (The Omega Man) have nothing on this modern day adaptation of the 1954 Richard Matheson novel.
Basically humanity has been wiped out by what was thought to be the cure for cancer. The patients who were treated with the cure either died or developed vampire-like traits. The virus became airborne killing the rest of human kind except — it seems for one man.
Robert Neville (Will Smith) is trapped in New York City with no company but his dog and the neighborhood mannequins. He is trying to find a cure for the effects of the virus. With cunning and agility he believes he can beat this virus and make the world safe once again.
The story line is simple and to the point, he’s a man alone with no other alternative than to act on his survival instincts. The movie gives a unique view of solitary life and the effects it has on the emotions.

I enjoyed this movie. But I left the theatre a little disappointed. I thought the ending was too abrubt. That's Hollywood.

I saw this movie on Thursday. I had trouble sleeping afterward. It is visually stunning and very disturbing. I have to hand it to Will Smith--he had to carry this movie nearly solo, and he did a great job. You won't forget 'I am Legend' soon, but there are parts that leave you a little puzzled.
