Three Rivers presented degrees and certificates to graduates during the college's first-ever Winter Commencement Ceremonies on Friday, Dec. 14.
"We are pleased to know that these well-educated graduates will now be joining other Three Rivers alumni to help make the world a better place," said Dr. John F. Cooper, Three Rivers president.
Due to the increased enrollment at Three Rivers, the college hosted its first-ever winter commencement this year. The ceremony began with the traditional Academic Procession into the Bess Center on the Three Rivers campus.
Guest speaker for the evening's ceremony was Dr. Carol Swain Lewis, an instructor of English at Three Rivers and the director of the college's Honors Program. Lewis has taught at Three Rivers since 1987. She received her bachelor's degree from Stephens College in Columbia, a masters degree from Webster University in St. Louis, and her doctorate from Regent University. She teaches American and world literature and college writing at Three Rivers.
At the Dec. 14 ceremony, more than 70 students received associate of arts or associate of applied science degrees or short-term certificates. Among them was Mark Earl Moore of Marquand.
