Dr. T.A. Tinnin has been elected Fredericktown Chamber of Commerce president. He will succeed Roy Roberts.

The first Madison County baby born in 1958 is Susan Wilson, daughter of Ray and Lucille Wilson.

Ten people were killed in motor vehicle accidents in Madison County in 1957.

Phil and Martha Senter are the parents of the first baby of 1983. Laura Elizabeth Senter was born January 6.

The city has received grants of  $1,330,500 and $247,932 to construct a new wastewater treatment plant.

Maxine Bollinger retired after over 27 years of service with the Agriculture Stablilization and Conservation Office.

The Madison Medical Center Ladies Auxillary held a goodbye party for Eve Figlure, a charter member of the organization. Eve is moving to Bethesda, Maryland to be near her daughters.

Fredericktown 6th grader Joaby Sikes won the Southeast Missouri Elks District Hoop Shoot at Mineral Area College. He made 24 of 25.
