The Blackcats Basketball team used a 46-point second half to take third place at the Central Christmas Tournament with a 69-55 victory over Farmington.
This improved the Cats to 8-4.
The Knights led 6-2 early in the contest and scored the final four points of the first quarter after the Cats had tied the game at 10-10.
Fredericktown opened the second period with a 10-0 run aided by three-pointers from Jerod Williams and Kaleb Francis A Crowell put back helped the Blackcats grab a 23-17 lead. It was 23-20 at the break.
Farmington cut the score to 25-23 early in the third quarter, before Fredericktown converted three steals into baskets to go up by eight. Fredericktown increased its lead to as many as 12 in the period, while Farmington could get no closer than eight. It was 45-35 after three periods.
Williams scored a game-high 19 points, and Mike Crowell recorded 18 points with eight rebounds for the Blackcats. Eli Skaggs scored 11 points and Ryan Sawyer added eight with five assists.
Kaleb Francis had six, Jake SIkes had four, and Logan Royer scored the team’s final points with a late 3-pointer.
