December 31, 2007, The Honorable Madison County Commission met pursuant to adjournment on with the following officers present; Presiding Commissioner John Rauls, First District Commissioner Dennis Bradford, and Second District Commissioner Terry Hovis. County Clerk, Don Firebaugh, was present to record the proceedings.
Under new business, Mrs. Becky Hunt, Director of the Madison County Health Department presented the Commission with a request to sponsor an application for a Community Block Grant for a new facility to house the services required of the Health Department. The application will be submitted by March 1, 2008, if approved by the Commission.
Commissioner Hovis made a motion to approve Mrs. Hunt's request. Commissioner Bradford seconded the motion. The motion carried by vote: Commissioner Rauls (Yes), Commissioner Bradford (Yes), and Commissioner Hovis (Yes).
E-911 Director, Bill Starkey reported to the Commission the operational status of equipment in the 911 department. He said that he had talked with AT & T concerning the changes in service at the 911 department that will occur soon.
Ernie Robinson, Acting Supervisor for Madison County Road and Bridge department, reported all work accomplished by his department the past week and the operational status of equipment. He said that one grader and one tandem dump truck was inoperable and one grader had been repaired.
First District Commissioner Dennis Bradford and Ernie Robinson looked at roads 406, 424, 431, 437, and 445. He said they looked to be in good condition.
Presiding Commissioner John Rauls and Commissioner Hovis attended the District Commissioner meeting on December 19, 2007 at Perryville, MO. Commissioner Rauls said that MODOT gave a presentation that stated their financial condition through the year 2010.
Commissioner Hovis made a motion to approve the following items for the month of December 2007: $ 9,129.99 personal property abatements and $ 1, 063.32 real estate abatements along with bills for Madison County for the past week. Commissioner Bradford seconded the motion. Motion carried by vote: Presiding Commissioner Rauls (yes), Commissioner Bradford (yes), and Commissioner Hovis (yes).
