No one I've spoken to even knew it was going to be on the ballot! I was out of town the week before the election, but this should've been presented to the public WEEKS or even months ago! BUT, if the District continues to allow the obvious neglect of our current facilities (inside AND out!)and continues to turn their backs on the abuse of campuses by students, staff, and employees, the community will NEVER be willing to do anything. The District HAS to show the community that they care about what we have NOW, and THEN people will be more willing to vote for something like this. The community already knows there is a need, as you can see by this first vote on the issue. But SOMEONE at each campus needs to step up and make sure that all the janitors are doing their jobs by CLEANING and addressing repairs QUICKLY. Teachers, principals, and other staff members need to hold students responsible for leaving their trash laying around school campuses, marking on walls/floors, tearing up seats on school buses, etc. But, no one seems to care!
