Stearley accepts scholarship
Christopher Michel Stearley has accepted a four-year Army ROTC scholarship to attend Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas, commencing in the fall of 2008. The scholarship pays full tuition and educational fees. It also includes an annual allotment of $900 for textbooks and classroom supplies and a subsistence allowance of $300 a month during the school year. This amount will be increased as Stearley progresses through college. In additon to these benefits awarded to winners of national ROTC scholarships, Arkansas State University will include a board waiver of         $2320 per year. Stearley’s application for scholarship was reviewed for achievement in academics, athletics and extracurricular activities. Stearley chose Arkansas State University over Lincoln University and Lindenwood University which also extended scholarship offers. Stearley will be a 2008 graduate of Fredericktown High School. He is the son of Michel and Kathy Stearley of Fredericktown. While attending Arkansas State University Stearley plans on majoring in criminology.
