Sign-ups and Try-outs

Local teams or leagues holding sign-ups and try-outs will be announced daily in the Daily Journal sport section. Please send an announcement of your upcoming sign-up or tryout to the sports department no sooner than two weeks before the event by either phone 431-2010 ext. 176, FAX 431-7640, or drop it off in person at the Daily Journal office in Park Hills.

The events will be divided into two sections: 1. Area sign-ups and try-outs, and 2. MABA & MACRBA.



AREA SIGN-UPS & TRY-OUTS

Legion Try-outs — Mar. 30

Try-outs for 16-17 year olds for a Junior American Legion team will be held at Mineral Area College’s baseball Field on March 30 at 2 p.m. For further information or for players who are unable to attend, but still wish to try out, call Matt Thompson at 431-0307.

T-Ball Sign-ups — May 2

The Park Hills Parks and Recreation Department is holding sign-ups for their two summer divisions  of baseball for boys and girls ages 4-8. Division 1 will be for 4-5 year olds with batting off of a tee or coach pitching with no score kept. Division 2 is for 6-8 year olds with coach pitching and score will be kept. Games will be on Tuesday and Thursday in May-July at the sports complex. Parents may sign their child up at Park Hills City Hall until May 2, and there is no charge. Coaches are needed for both divisions. For further information call the Parks Department at 431-0478.

MABA & MACRBA

The MABA and MACRBA section is divided into their leagues: Bantam (7-9 yr. olds), Cal Ripken Minor (10 yr. olds), Cal Ripken (10-12 yr. olds), 13 year olds, Junior (13-15) and Senior Babe Ruth (16-18).

Coaches  Meeting — Apr. 2

The Mineral Area Cal Ripken Baseball Association will have a meeting on April 2nd at 7 p.m. at the Central Middle School. All current coaches need to attend.



13 YEAR OLDS

Raiders Try-outs — Apr. 2

Cubs Try-outs — Apr. 2

The Desloge Cubs will be holding try-outs on April 2 at 7:30 p.m. at Brightwell Park. For further information call Dustin Gray at 747-8565.
