Last Saturday’s temperatures weren’t the greatest for flying a kite.
“It’s not much fun for kids to be outside in 40 degree wind chill temperatures,” said Parks Director Bud Norman of weather conditions last weekend.
The Kite Day for Kids has been rescheduled for April 20 at Engler Park. The event will start at 2 p.m. with registration and kite decorating. The official kite flying begins at 3 p.m. and will last until 5 p.m., when the judging of the decorate kites and awards take place.
The first 150 kids to register will receive a free kite kit to decorate and put together. Adults must be present with children during the event.
The event is sponsored by the Farmington Parks and Recreation Department and KREI/KTJJ Regional Radio. For more information, contact the parks department at 756-2215.
