Cal Ripken and Bantam summer baseball get underway

The MACRBA leagues got underway with the Cal Ripken Minor League (10 year olds) playing on Saturday, and the Cal Ripken (10-12) and Bantam Leagues (7-9) playing their first games on Monday.
CAL RIPKEN LEAGUE
Braves 7, Royals 6
PARK HILLS — The Desloge Braves took over the lead in the top of the fourth inning and then kept it until the end of the game for a 7-6 win. Tyler Cassidy was the winning pitcher striking out seven batters and walking only five in his first-ever game pitched.
Dakota Hood was 3-4 at the plate with a single, double , triple and three RBI. Tyler Cassidy also went 3-4 at the plate. Keenan Johnson was 2-3 with a double, and Trent Cassidy, Mason Savage and Brendan Jones had one hit apiece.
Yankees 8, Eagles 0
DESLOGE — Austin Tounsand struck out 12 batters in pitching a no-hitter for the North County Yankees in an 8-0 win over the Leadwood Eagles.
Seth Tiefenauer and L.J. Weible were both 2-2 at the plate. Travis Ryan, Wyatt Compton, Trevor Mason, and Anthony Breakfield.
The Yankees will play next at home on Wednesday against the Farmington Jaguars.
Hornets 11, Raiders 6
POTOSI — The Potosi Hornets outlasted the Bonne Terre Raiders for an 11-6 win. Colby Eckhoff was the winning pitcher, allowing only three hits while striking out five batters. Austin Cooley was 3-3, Eckhoff and Lane Merseal had two hits apiece. Levi Spray had a single for the Raiders.
Bulldogs 14, Twins 8
BISMARCK — The Leadwood Bulldogs had to use the Bismarck ball field to play their home game since their field was in use for a high school district tournament. The Bulldogs still pulled off a 14-6 win, jumping out to an early 8-1 lead. Starting pitcher for the Bulldogs, John Lashley threw only two innings, and was followed by several relievers.
Both Lashley and Doug Lawson had two singles and a double and also stole 10 bases between them. Gavin Brines hit a home run for the Bulldogs.
Knights 24, Flames 0
FARMINGTON — Jordan Ankrom and Patrick Drye combined for a no-hiitter facing only the minimum 12 batters in route to 24-0 win.
Connor Forsyth was perfect at the plate, going 4-4. Trent Wideman and Ankrom had two hits apiece.
Dodgers 9, Angels 2
PARK HILLS — The Park Hills Dodgers were able to defeat the Doe Run Angels 9-2, mainly due to the pitching performance of Clayton LaBruyere who struck out 10 batters.
BANTAM LEAGUE
Bulldogs 12, Rattler 6
FARMINGTON — The Leadwood Bulldogs used their hitting power to post a 12-6 opening day score over the Farmington Rattlers. The Bulldogs scored half of their runs in the first two innings and score the other half in the top of the fifth.
Pitcher Parker Forshee was 2-2 with a home run, Jared Barnett was 3-3 with all triples, and Jacob Meinershagen was 4-4 with two doubles. Devon Lindsey hit a double and a triple, Ty Simily hit a triple , and Trenton Serini had two singles.
Titans 6, Stars 4
BISMARCK — Jared Jones was the winning pitcher for the Leadwood Titans who beat the Bismarck Stars 6-4. Jones was 3-3 at the plate with a single, a double, and a home run. Ethan Branch had two hits, and Noah Vinson, Matthew Momot, Blake Barlow and Josh McSpadden had one hit apiece.
Explosion 3, Bandits 0
BONNE TERRE — The Bonne Terre Explosion lived up to its name. With the score tied at 0-0, Cole Rutledge drove in all of the game’s runs with a three-run, walk-off home run in the bottom of the fifth inning for a 3-0 win. The only other hit in the game was a double by Chase Sheldon.
Jake Sullens was the winning pitcher with nine strike-outs. Jedidiah Starkey and Kenny Couch combined to strike out 11 Explosion batters.
The Explosion will be at home for their next game on Thursday. The Bandits will travel to Arcadia Valley this evening.
Raiders 13, Bombers 9
DESLOGE — The Desloge Raiders got their game off to a good start with a 13-9 win over the Bonne Terre Bombers. Trae Robinson was the winning pitcher, allowing only one hit while striking out nine. Robinson was 2-3 with a double and two RBI
Hitters for the Raiders were Riley Smith, Eli Claywell, Kolten Poorman, Chase Robinson, Kenny Mahurin and Drew Forney.
Outlaws 15, Gators 0
FARMINGTON — The Farmington Outlaws were recipients of a one-hit shut-out by Brandon Winder and a home run and a single for a 15-0 shut-out.
Blair Boyd hit the cycle except a home run. Chase Fischbeck, Austin Koppeis and Brayden Moon had two hits each. Pappan Westbrook and Fischbrook both hit doubles. Reagan Ragsdale hit one single.
Rockets 15, Clippers 0
PARK HILLS — Fifteen walks were issued between the two teams in the three innings it took to play a 15-0 game in favor of the Park Hills Rockets over the Arcadia Valley Clippers.
Winning pitcher Brandon Wagner struck out nine batters in posting a no-hitter. Wagner and Cole Murphy were both 2-2 at the plate. Ethan House hit a triple, and Luke Manion hit one single.
CAL RIPKEN MINOR
Rangers 11, Cardinals 5
Rangers 8, Cardinals 2
DESLOGE — The North County Rangers won both ends of Saturday’s doubleheader by scores of 11-5 and 8-2 over the Desloge Cardinals.
Jayden Weible was the winning pitcher of game one and Tanner Aubuchon was the winner of game two. Adam McGraw hit four doubles and a single in the doubleheader. Jacob Stamm hit a home run and a double, and Ian Smith had two singles and a double.
