Royals collect fourth win of season

PARK HILLS — The Park Hills Royals rode the arm of Bret Chapman Monday night enroute to a 9-4 win over the Leadwood Eagles. Chapman pitched six innings, gave up just five hits and struck out one batter. Isaak Vinson suffered the loss for Leadwood.
Brandon Richardson led the Royals at the plate with a double and a single. Dakota LaChance had a triple. Austin Beavers, Kolby Buckley and Brennan White each had a single.
The Royals improve to 4-10 and will host the Farmington Jaguars tonight.
Dodgers 16, Stingers 1
PARK HILLS — It was the Park Hills Dodgers who did the stinging Monday night. The Park Hills club defeated the Potosi Stingers 16-1 in four innings. Cody Cobb picked up the win for the Dodgers, pitching all four innings with eight strikeouts.
Lane Huff and Scott Richardson each had home runs in the game. Pierce Daniels had a double and a single.
The Dodgers improve to 12-2 and will host the Fredericktown Flames tonight.
Knights 2, Cougars 1
FARMINGTON — The Farmington Knights won a 2-1 barn burner over the Arcadia Cougars Monday night. Conner Forsythe picked up the win for Farmington. Forsythe pitched six innings, gave up just one run and struck out eight batters. Jordan Ankrom received the save.
Mike Pinkley led Farmington at the plate with a pair of hits. Ian Semar and Patrick Drye each had a hit.
The Knights improve to 11-4 and will host the Potosi Stingers tonight.
Raiders 12, Twins 2
BISMARCK — The Bonne Terre Raiders cruised to a 12-2 win over the Bismarck Twins Monday night. Levi Spray received the win for Bonne Terre. Spray struck out seven batters on the mound. Spray also had a triple and a single at the plate.
Jesse Schwent had a triple and a double, Jacob Harris had a triple and a single, Ryne Scherffius had two singles, TJ Eaton had two singles, Blake Dixon had a double and Trae Morris had a double.
Jordan Copeland led Bismarck at the plate with a double and a single.
AMERICAN LEGION
Bonne Terre 3, Festus 2
BONNE TERRE — The Bonne Terre Warriors picked up a 3-2 win Monday night over the Festus Post 253 in American Legion action. Jake Cavins picked up the win for Bonne Terre. Cavins pitched 6 1/3 innings, gave up one run on two hits and struck out eight batters. Jake Smith got the save.
Matt Robinson led Bonne Terre at the plate with two hits and scored twice. Jordan Thompson had a hit and ended up with the winning RBI. Tanner Glore, Brad Wright and Landon Young each had a hit.
The Warriors improve to 8-2 and will host De Soto tonight at 6 p.m. at North County High School.
JUNIOR BABE RUTH
Giants 13, Tigers 3
PARK HILLS — The Park Hills Giants used timely hitting to knock off the Bismarck Tigers 13-3 Monday night. Garrett Manion picked up the win for Park Hills with eight strikeouts.
Dale Mosier led the Giants at the plate with four hits, including a triple and a double. Tanner Skaggs had three hits with a triple. Luke Baker had a double.
The Tigers will be back in action tonight at home versus the Leadwood Rockies.
SENIOR BABE RUTH
Pirates 10, Cyclones 2
ARCADIA VALLEY — An eight run explosion in the seventh inning catapulted the Leadwood Pirates into first place in the Senior Babe Ruth Division Monday night. The Pirates and the Arcadia Valley Cyclones were knotted up at 2-2 heading into the top half of the seventh. Leadwood’s bats got hot at the right time and the result was a 10-2 win.
Ethan Sitton picked up the win for Leadwood. Sitton pitched seven innings, gave up four hits, four walks and struck out five batters.
Kyle Nettles led the Pirates at the plate with three hits. Jake Gidden and Josh Akers each had two hits. Cody Shannon and Trevor Kean each had a hit.
The Pirates improve to 6-3 and will travel to Farmington Wednesday night.
