The mail arrived late in Fredericktown due to the train breaking down.
The express wagon driver was thrown out of his wagon and was knocked unconscious for several hours. He was thought to be seriously injured, but is already back at work.
Two sisters ages fourteen and sixteen were sent to reform school in Chillicothe. They had been charged with “willful and unlawfully tramping and wandering about from place to place without any visable means of support. Their mother testified against them. The younger girl fought like a tiger when an attempt was made to take her to the train and the sheriff put handcuffs on her.

John Singleton attended Boys State held at Central Missouri State University.
Work is progressing on the U.S. Highway 67 project.

The Fredericktown Chamber of Commerce held a BBQ fundraiser.
New Rotary Club officers are Bob Mooney, president; Fred Yates, vice-president and Bill Osborn secretary-treasurer.
Summer school has ended.
