The Fredericktown and Madison County Chamber of Commerce will be holding a Chamber Block Yard Sale from 7 A.M. to 2 P.M. on Saturday, August 2, 2008 along west Main St. in downtown Fredericktown.
The new Executive Director Christina Mattingly said coffee and doughnuts will be available for purchase in the morning and BBQ will be available for purchase later on in the day.
Mattingly said the yard sale spaces are available to anyone, business or individuals and you don’t have to be a member of the Chamber to reserve a space. (But new members are always welcome).
Mattingly said the money collected from the sale of the food and the spaces will go toward a new copier for the Chamber of Commerce.
One block of west Main St. between court square and Park Dr. will be closed for the event between 7 AM and 2 PM. East bound traffic can detour down Park Dr. to College Ave., left on College Ave. to south Main St., and left again back through the court square. West bound traffic will travel around the court square onto south Main St., to College Ave., right on College Ave. to Park Dr., and northbound on Park Dr. back to west Main St. Mattingly reminds everyone that free parking is available in the back of Tom Boys, Subway, around the court square, on Park Dr. and Buford Blvd.
A space for the sale costs $20 and spaces are going quickly. As of mid-July, fifteen of the thirty spaces available had been reserved. Only spaces are reserved, not tables or chairs. Sellers must provide their own tables and chairs.
For more information you can call the Chamber between 8 AM and 5 PM Monday through Friday (closed for lunch from 12:00 to 1:00) at 573-783-2604.
