If you hear the sound of thunder and yet see no storm clouds in the sky, don’t be alarmed. It will just be the Road Rider for Jesus Motorcycle Ministry coming to town for their Fourth National “Days Of Praise” motorcycle rally. The rally is being held again this year at the Pinecrest Camp in Cherokee Pass, MO, located on Highway C 1/2 mile west of Highway 67. This is our second year to hold our national rally in this area and again it is open to all motorcyclists and all brands of motorcycles. On Friday evening, September 12th, at about 9:00 PM, there will be a motorcycle light parade through town. There will be 150 plus motorcycles riding through town entering on Highway 72, going around the Courthouse Square and continuing on Highway 72 to Calvary Temple Church.
Then on Saturday, September 13th, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, there will be a “People’s Choice” motorcycle show with motorcycles being staged around the courthouse. The residents of the town are invited to view the motorcycle ministry, for they are anxious to meet you!
The Road Riders For Jesus motorcycle ministry is a national organization with members in 45 states and active chapters in 40 states. The ministry was founded in August of 1999 by Carl Crackel, who is the National Director. “We like to interact with the townsfolk wherever we go to show them that not all motorcycle groups are rowdy, trouble makers,” says Carl. “We are a very friendly group and we love to meet new people. And, we love to talk about motorcycles. Our main commitment though is to carry the word of God to others and to show them the love of Christ. Our national rally is a way for us to gather together, have lots of fun, share in some inspiring worship services, and enjoy some great Christian music. We also will be doing some scenic rides through the area, as well as the typical motorcycling events that our members enjoy. This is a four day event that runs from September 11th through September 14th. We invite everyone to come come out and enjoy the parade and the motorcycle show.” We would also like to invite the public to attend our Bluegrass Gospel Concert on Thursday, September 10th at 7:00 PM by Ogburn Junction and then the Lesters Concert on Saturday evening, September 13th, at 7:30 PM.
