Farmington vs. North County football this Friday
Tuesday, August 26, 2008
The Farmington Knights versus the North County Raiders match-up is always a major attraction in area high school football, and this year it will take on a special flavor, since it will be the first game of the season on August 29 at Raider Field.

In expectation of the huge crowd the game always draws, North County has made special preparations again this year.

Tickets:  Will go on sale at North County and Farmington High Schools on Tuesday, August 26th, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the respective high school office of each school.

Prices are $3 for adults and $2 for students. Senior citizens admitted free. Tickets will also be sold at the ticket booth the night of the game starting at 5:30 p.m.

Shuttles:  Will run from the Elementary School in Bonne Terre, just off Highway 67, starting at 6 p.m. until game time. A shuttle will take you back to your car after the game.

Gates:  Gates will open at Raider Field at 5:30 p.m. There will be 3 gates available for the public. The gate to the far right will allow quicker access to the visitor side. Patrons of both districts are welcome to enter at any gate.

Opponents are too tough, huh? I don't guess you've heard that Farmington Spanked East Belleville tonight 35-2. When they are playing Helias next week this game won't matter either.

35yrresident and sid luckman -

You wonder why your children are beating each other down in the parking lot. You are teaching them to do that kind of crap. Here is a clue as to how important this is: name the state champions for the last five years without looking online or anywhere else. Just off the top of your head name the last five state champs. Better yet, name the last five Super Bowl Champions without looking.

Maybe you got one or two. The fact of the matter is that in five years this won't even be on the radar or matter. Why don't you concentrate your efforts on more long-term interests. Name the two people that your children learn more from than anyone else. Name your children from oldest to youngest. Name your childs best-friend. Where are your children right now? Not some lame answer like 'in school'. What class are they sitting in right now?

In the long run that football game means nothing. The Knights won, but in five years it won't matter to them either.

sid you were right they could and did (at times) move the ball with ease against farmington. I along with a lot of others am not pleased with this coach, I understand that the coach cant do everything but we have a very good quarterback and from what I saw some good receivers. We need to start up the passing game. If we meet farmington in districts(which we wont because farmington will not make it to districts, opponents too tough,) we need to show them what NC can really do to them. GOOD LUCK NC I FOR ONE KNOW YOU SHOULD HAVE BEAT THE KNIGHETTS OR a I MEAN THE kNIGHTs.
