October classes at MAC
Beginning French will be taught for six weeks on Tuesday and Thursday nights, beginning Oct. 7 and ending Nov. 13. Mineral Area College Continuing Education is offering the class at the Community Education Building, located at the entrance to MAC's Park Hills campus. The classes will be held from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
The cost of the class, taught by Kristy Braswell, is $49 per person, and is intended for those 16 years old and older.
The class is intended to be a quick and fun way to start speaking French, without the long-term commitment to an in-depth study of grammar.
The relaxing, gentle, stretching movements of Tai Chi will be offered at Mineral Area College. The ancient Chinese form of exercise and self-defense has seen popularity during the last decade for its positive effect on physical and mental wellness

The cost of the class, taught by Dennis Robinson, is $49 per person plus supplies, and is intended for those 16 years old and older. The deadline to register is Sept. 25. Robinson has been teaching Tai Chi for several years now.
Students should wear loosely-fitting clothing that allows them to move freely.
The basics of Microsoft Word 2007 will be taught during a short-term class on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning Sept. 30 and ending Oct. 9, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the Community Education Building.
The cost of the class, taught by Kathy Waller, is $45 per person and is intended for those 16 years old and older. The deadline to register is Sept. 23.
Waller will teach students about the various word-processing, table-building, and other formatting options in Microsoft Word 2007.
A one-day "Selling on E-Bay" workshop on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 9 a.m. to noon, in the Community Education Building.
The cost of the class, taught by Sandra Price, is $20 per person plus supplies, and is intended for those 18 years old and older. The deadline to register is Sept. 26.
To register for any Continuing Education class, prospective students need to obtain a Registration Form, fill it out, and return it with their cash or check payment (make checks payable to "Mineral Area College") to the Continuing Education program at MAC, or students may register over the phone with a credit card.
