Diabetes-related Episode Causes Accident

A Farmington police officer and a firefighter walk to a car that ended up in a ditch behind Applebee’s Monday afternoon. According to Farmington Police, in the Century 21 parking lot, the driver, Cindy Elkins of Farmington, lost consciousness due to a diabetes-related episode. The car struck a light pole and went into a ditch. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment but did not have any apparent injuries from the crash. - Teresa Ressel / Daily Journal
