Lady Cats Tennis

The Lady Cats Tennis Team finished in a second place tielast week in the MAAA Conference Tennis Tourney.

Farmington won with 27 points. The Lady Cats and North County each had nine. Potosi had five, and Arcadia Valley had four.

In No. 1 Singles, Asha Ayyagari was seeded second and won two match to finish second. In No. 2 Singles, Samantha Pinkley was seeded third. She pulled off a semifinal round upset and took second. In No. 3 Singles, Allison Clover was seeded fifth, won her opening round match over the four seed, and defeated the third seed in the third place match. In No. 4 Singles, Emily Godsey was seeded third and took second. in No. 5 Singles, Shelby Seabaugh was seeded fourth and took third. In No. 6 Singles, Kaycelyn Alexander was seeded fifth, and finished fifth.

In Doubles, Ayyagari and Pinkley took third. Godsey and Seabaugh were fifth. Clover and Alexander were fifth.

For her efforts inthe tournament, and all season long, Ayyagari was selected to the MAAA All-Conference Tennis Team.

Prior to the MAAA tourney, the Lady Cats topped Sikeston, 6-3, September 30.

In Singles, Asha Ayyagari lost, 8-3. Samantha Pinkley lost 9-8 (8-6). Allison Clover won, 8-1. Emily Godsey won 8-0. Shelby Seabaugh won, 8-3. Kaycelyn Alexander won, 8-0.

In Doubles, Ayyagari and Pinkley lost 9-7. Godsey and Seabaugh won 8-2. Clover and Alexander won 8-1. In JV action, Caitlin Neubrand won, 8-0.
