Trail's end
Mark Ketcherside and Curtis Amsden are back from their horseback ride to raise money for cancer research. They left Farmington on Sept. 21 and road 215 miles to Union City, Tenn. and raised $2,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Center in Memphis. 'One lady who had had cancer and had had 15 surgeries couldn't ride with them, but she hauled feed for them from Cape Girardeau to Tennessee,' said John Kee, pastor of the Cross Trail Cowboy Church that supported the pair in their ride. 'One church took up an offering for them for about $800.' He said others gave the pair a place to stay. They were supposed to end their trail today, but instead, they finished way ahead of schedule '” on Sept. 29. - Donna Hickman / Daily Journal
