The collector’s race was determined after the absentee votes were counted Friday. William L.A. “Butch” Mooney was elected collector by 28 votes. He will be the only Republican in the courthouse.
Homecoming queen candidates are Dean Skaggs, Margaret Ammon, Sandra Pogue, and Nancy Henson.
Irma Royer received a 20 year award pin for her work with 4-H.
The Cats will share their 3rd Mineral Area Conference title by beating DeSoto 25-7.

Charlet Francis won a writing awary co-sponsored by the Missouri Sate Teachers Association and the Apple Growers of America. Her essay was judged the best from some 300 entries.
New stone siding was installed at the Schnapp, Graham and Reid law office on East Main Street.
The Cats defeated Ste. Genevieve 12-10, and are playoff bound. Players of the week are Devin Amelunke, Bobby Sargent, Mike Pierson, and David Tinnin.

The FHS academic team competed for the first time ever and took 2nd place in the competition. Tony Voss received a 3rd place overall medal.
The Cats won their season finale over Kennett.
Tracy Kelly won the Fireman of the Year award from the Cherokee Pass Fire Department
