The county court allowed Sam Clark $15 for 20 cords of wood.

The high school team played the Will Mayfield College team at Marble Hill. Fredericktown won 10-5.

The State Fish Department stocked 9000 crappie and black bass in the St. Francois River.

November 20, 1958

FFA president Jerry Gregory crowned Polly Polete Barnwarming Queen.

Cletus Tesreau sold his store on High Street to Maydean Wulfert.

A fire destroyed 2 restaurants, a barber shop, a drug store, and a used furniture store as well as a residence in Marquand.

There is a proposal to increase Missouri’s gas tax from 3 cents to 4 cents a gallon.

November 17, 1983

About 1 inch of snow fell November 13.

Country Day defeated the Cats in the second round of the state playoffs by a 28-7 score. The Cats had defeated Willow Springs in the first round 27-15. The Cats ended with a 9-3 record.

The Madison Memorial Hospital Auxiliary bazaar was a huge success.

Lloyd and Mary Pyatt celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

November 18, 1998

Jeremy Penwell, Derek Smith, John Crowe, Luke McKinnis, Tim Pirtle, Rodney Michael, Jeremy Parson, and Chris Reagan received post season football honors.

The American Legion donated a flag to the Marquand-Zion school.

William “Dub” and Willa Dean Combs celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

There were 15,253 turkeys bagged in the fall turkey season.
