December 5, this Friday night, is the Annual Home for the Holidays, in downtown Fredericktown. (See page 11 of this issue for more details.) The parade will be on Friday, December 5, 2008 at 6:30 P.M. in the downtown area. Line up will be at the Armory and travel toward town ending at JC Park, where there will be hot chocolate and SANTA. Line up time will be 5:30 PM. Please arrive on time!

December 5, the Civil War Museum will be hosting Father Christmas this Friday night from 5 pm - 9 pm.  The museum is located at 156 South Main Street, across from the Fredericktown post office. Children of all ages are invited to come to the museum and talk with Father Christmas, telling him of their Christmas wishes.  There is no admission charge and holiday treats will be served. The Fredericktown Garden Club is also sponsoring a Christmas Centerpiece and Wreath contest.  All entries and winners will be on display at the museum from 5 pm - 9 pm on Friday and on Saturday from noon - 5 pm.  There is no admission charge either day.

December 7, Fredericktown Middle School will host its Choral Holiday Concert, at 2 p.m. in the FMS gym.

December 7, Fredericktown Christian Church will have its Christmas Cantata at 9 a.m., during morning services.

December 7, the First Presbyterian Church of Fredericktown will host the Annual Christmas Concert, at 3 p.m. many local talents will be featured at this event. Following the concert, there will be a reception in the Fellowship Hall. The public is invited to attend at no charge, as always.

December 7, Calvary Children's Choir, directed by Barbara Huffman and Paula Sawyer, will present its Christmas Program 'Carols of Christmas,' at 10:45 a.m., at Calvary Temple.

December 11, Marquand-Zion will hold its annual Christmas Concert at 7 p.m., in Tiger Gym. According to music teacher David Stevens, the program will feature a great new musical entitled 'Home for the Holidays.' 'As always, our students have been working very hard  for this special night of singing and fun,' Stevens said. 'We will have some great music, a holiday play by our sixth grade class, and a few surprises.' The night's entertainment will also include a first: a holiday sing-along accompanied by the high school's applied guitar class. As a special treat, a visit from a familiar visitor from the North Pole is also in the works. The public is invited. There is no admission charge.

December 14, Fredericktown Christian Church will be caroling at local nursing homes, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

December 14 is the Fredericktown Band Holiday Concert, at 2 p.m. in the FHS gym.

December 14, Calvary Teen's N Triumph Youth Choir, under the direction of  Pastor Randy Sawyer, will present its Christmas Program 'A Night To Remember,' at 6 p.m., at Calvary Temple.

December 17, Faith Foundation Children's Home will present a special Christmas play 'Fat Albert's Christmas,' at 7 p.m., at Faith Family Worship Center (Across from the high school on Highway 72 east).

December 21, Calvary Temple's Children's Gift Sunday will include Pastor Carl Cureton's message 'A Right Christmas,' with 200 children participating, at 10:45 a.m. Also the calvary Santuary Choir, directed by Pastor Michael Shryock, will present its Christmas pageant 'Jesus is His Name,'  at 6 p.m. Both events are at Calvary Temple.

December 21, Fredericktown Christian Church will have its Sunday School Program at 9 a.m., during morning services.

December 21-22, Fredericktown Christian Church will have its live Nativity Scene 7-9 p.m., both days.

December 24, Fredericktown Christian Church will have its Christmas Eve Worship, at 7 p.m.
