The Fredericktown R-I School District met on Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at 6:00 p.m. President Larry Kemp led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.
The minutes, bills, and agenda were approved by the Board.
There was discussion regarding the upcoming tax levy proposal on Tuesday, February 3, 2009. A copy of the proposed ballot was given out. The Board approved the use of that ballot. Paperwork would be sent to all three counties affected: Madison, St. Francois, and Perry.
This past summer the board approved the purchase of a new bus. It was agreed to use a lease/purchase agreement during the next five years. The Board approved the lease/purchase agreement.
An update list of substitute teachers was given out and approved.
A bid was received for Workman's Compensation Insurance. This was approved by the Board.
In the Superintendent's Report the following events were brought up: Middle and High Schools Holiday Vocal Concert at the Middle School Gym on Sunday, December 7, at 2:00 p.m.; Madgrical Dinner on December 13 at St. Michael's Gym; Middle and High Schools Holiday Band Concert at the High School Gym on Sunday, December 14 at 2:00 p.m.; Primary Elementary Music Program on Tuesday, December 16, at 6:00 p.m.; and school will be dismissed on Friday, December 19, at 11:15 a.m. For Christmas break.
The CARE Organization gave an update on their activities.
The meeting closed and the Board voted to go into Closed Session for purposes of personnel.
