Lady Raiders post their first win in their first tournament

BONNE TERRE - The North County Lady Raiders, hosting their very first Christmas Tournament, advanced into the second round with a 64-37 win over the West County Lady Bulldogs to make it four straight opening games on the day that the higher seed won.
North County, the No. 3 seed, played the last game with No. 1 Meadow Heights winning the first game of the day 74-32 over Saxony Lutheran, No. 4 seed Miller Career defeating Perryville 58-38 and No. 2 Lesterville winning 76-43 over Ellington.
The Lady Raiders took the early lead and just kept adding to it, until the Lady Bulldogs made a run in the third quarter to close to within four points, but the Lady Raiders got hot from the three-point line. Rilea Huff made four and Kassi Hovis had two in the game. Hovis led all scorers with 17 points, and Huff scored 16.
Jamie Bullock scored 15 points for North County and Katie Gettinger led West County with 15.
North County will now face Lesterville on Monday at 3:30 p.m., and West County will play Ellington at 12:30 p.m.
