County officials sworn in
A mixture of new and returning county officials stood to take the oath of office at the county courthouse Wednesday morning. The official “swearing in” takes place prior to the start of the new year, when the group takes office.
Among the more than half dozen officials taking the oath were new couty commissioners Brett Burgess and Patrick Mullins. Burgess replaces long-time District 1 Commissioner Ron VarVera, who chose not to seek another term. Mullins will take the seat of retiring District 2 Commissioner Bill Bradley.
Mullins and Burgess will join Presiding Commissioner Jim Henson in the county’s highest office.
Also taking the oath Wednesday for another term was Assessor Dan Ward, Surveyor Terry Effan, Treasurer Kerry Glore, Coroner James Coplin, Public Administrator Kenneth Rohrer, and Sheriff Dan Bullock.
The officials were administered the oath of office by St. Francois County Clerk Mark Hedrick.
