FHS Science Olympiad Team Qualifies for State

The Fredericktown High School Science Olympiad team won 3rd place in the regional tournament at Southeast Missouri State University on February 5th, 2009.  The team qualified to compete at the state level in Columbia, Missouri on March 14.

The team members competed in 23 events, placing in all events.  The challenging and motivational events incorporate several disciplines including biology, chemistry, health, physics, and technology.  The events not only require knowledge of science, but problem solving and science application.

Science Olympiads is a national organization that celebrates the 25 anniversary of striving to improve the quality of science education, create passion for science investigation, and improve recognition for those who excel in science.

The Fredericktown Science Olympiad team is coached by Bruce Asher and Wendy O'Neal.
