Profile of Rich Walts
Running for Alderman, Ward III in Fredericktown

Bio info;

I am 62 years old with three years of college. I retired six years ago from Ameren UE after 33 years. I worked as an electrician, electrical supervisor, maintenance planner, welding inspector, and welding supervisor.

I have lived in Pine Castle Estates for six years.

I am married for forty years to Mary. We have two children; one boy and one girl, and two grandchildren.

Before being hired at Ameren UE, I served in the U.S. Navy for four years. During my time in the Navy, I attained the rating of 2nd Class Petty Officer and ran the reconnaissance crew at night abroad the USS Constellation in the Gulf of Tonkin.

I am an active member of the Fredericktown United Methodist Church and the Fredericktown Rotary Club.

Experience;

I have worked  within budget restrictions to get work done in UE power plants. I have learned to work with others as a team for the good of all involved.

In what order would you prioritize the top two or three issues facing Fredericktown?

1. Improve city infrastructure to attract more business to the city. (This included electrical, sewage treatment, water system and streets and bridges).

2. Fiscal responsibility- We need to prioritize our issues in order to put our limited funds to best use.

3. Support our school system to ensure we are giving our children the best education possible.

4. Establish a plan of action our Planning and Zoning Committee can follow and our citizens can understand and get behind, as a community, in order to put our best foot forward to perspective residents. (Both residential and commercial).
