COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Country singer and Missouri native Sara Evans will sing the national anthem before the Tigers’ football game Oct. 8 against No. 23 Nebraska.

Evans was born in Boonville and raised in nearby New Franklin, about 30 minutes from the Missouri campus. She started singing with a family band at age 5 and is now a top Nashville recording artist.

The Nebraska-Missouri game is the first Big 12 Conference match for the North Division rivals. Kickoff is at 8 p.m.
