The Potosi football team is currently ranked No. 1 among Class 3 teams in the state, joining Bowling Green as the only remaining unbeaten teams at 8-0. The Trojans will host rival Ste. Genevieve in a key district game on Friday. - Matt King / Daily Journal
COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — The State Rankings saw a lot of shifting in the Top 10 for each class as District play took its toll upon many ranked teams in Week 8. Probably the biggest shake-up was in Class 3 where four of the Top 10 suffered losses including the top two teams, Monett and Ritter. Potosi (8-0) was ranked third after Week 7 and was able to jump two spots into first with a 44-6 win over Fredericktown. So far, the Trojans have outscored their opponents 332-95.

americangirl, I agree Coach Haug did do a great job with an outstanding group of athletes at NC and turned Potosi football around but let's look at the present and the future and not dwell in the past. If that's the case lets mention Coach Thebeau, Coach Mapes, and even Coach Bays. Great job Mark and keep up the good work.

I agree that Central should be getting more recognition!

Thank you Oldballer for mentioning Central. As one who has suffered through some lean football years as a Central alumni, these kids give us great pleasure to watch as they give 100% each and every week. Coach Cory and his coaches are doing a super job!

Forget about who you want "oldballer" and don't ever try to think for me again. I have a right to my opinion just like you so stow it!!

Congratulations to the Trojans!! Very well deserved. Forget about Coach Haug and give some props to Coach Casey. Mark has done a great job. Can't help but notice some of the records in these polls!! What about Central with only 1 loss? What do you have to do to be noticed in this area? Sorry they are not rich in tradition but those kids deserve some recognition also!! Looking forward to next Thursday Potosi at Central!

Way to go Potosi. I am North County through and through but still glad to see an area team do so well. Of course, I have to give a shout out to Matt Haug for the wonderful job he did while at Potosi. Hopefully, North County can once again become as good as we used to be (when he was our Coach). If Coach Haug is not someday put into the High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame, it will be an injustice!!!
