Byron James "Jim" "JB" Barber
Byron James  “Jim” "JB" Barber,  70, of Fredericktown died October 14, 2009 at his home in rural Fredericktown. 

He was born March 20, 1939 in East St. Louis, Illinois, a son of William Warren Barber and Juanita Thelma (Tourville) Barber.

On March 15, 1965, in Waterloo, Illinois, he was married to Lorilee Muriel Bowers who survives in Fredericktown.

Mr. Barber is also survived by  three sons, James Lee Barber of Fredericktown, Thomas Ray Barber of Fredericktown and Shannon Paul Barber Sr. of Marble Hill, Missouri; three daughters Victoria Lynn Nast of Belleville, Illinois, Kelly Jean Graham of Fredericktown and Penny Marie O'Brien of Junction City; Brothers Louis Thomas Barber, Sr. of Pickneyville, Illinois and Robert Clark Barber of Columbia, Illinois; Sisters, Evelyn Virginia Seacord of Columbia, Illinois, Beverly Jean Gardner of O'Fallon, Illinois, Ida May Naumann of Columbia, Illinois, Janet Marie Stram of Caseyville, Illinois, Judith Ann Butler of Collinsville, Illinois; and 22 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

His parents, brothers - William John Barber, Harold Lee Barber, Edward Lewis Barber and Ralph Harold Barber, and niece Mindy Butler preceded him in death.

Mr. Barber was owner/operator of the JB Salvage Yard in Fredericktown and in his spare time he enjoyed restoring old cars.

He was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church in Marble Hill.

Services were held October 17, 2009 at Wilson Funeral Home with Brother Randy Poole officiating.

Burial was at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Fredericktown.

Pallbearers were: Byron “BJ” Barber, Chad Barber, Shannon Barber Jr., Sam O’ Brien, Brandon Graham, Eric Vernon and Cody Vernon.
