The Fredericktown Optimist Club 2009 Season came to a final climactic weekend with a tourney where each team got a chance to play for tournament points and the opportunity to face prior opponents one last time. The Optimist Club is proud to host this local tournament which gives every player the opportunity to experience a tournament atmosphere.

Besides the games there was another highlight Saturday. The Club held a hot/soda combo giveaway, one combo to each of the athletes. Country Mart helped make this happen by donating the hot dogs and Jeff McDowell of Bird Dog Distributing, donated the buns. The combos were a big hit with all of the kids.

Each age division featured some very close games with games going down to the final seconds, into sudden death play and in some second day cases, to deciding shootouts. A very exciting way to close out a season.
