November 4, 1909

An accident occurred at South Main and Marvin when Mrs. Walter May was blinded by the light from the electric lamps and she steered her buggy into the path of Ode Kinder’s buggy. She was thrown out of her buggy, but avoided serious injury. Both buggies sustained considerable damage.

The Fredericktown football team was defeated by Farmington 6-0.

Pranksters caused  considerable damage to the public school Halloween night.

October 29, 1959

City Marshall Harley Baker has announced that auxiliary police will help patrol the city Halloween night.

MFA delegates are Robert Green, Orla Hinkle, Robert Meagher, Ira Sikes, Ernie Thurman, Pat Fox and Carl Lamb.

Local correspondents reported from Castor, Marquand, Central, Cedar Creek, Beulah, Roselle, Silvermines and London Hill.

The Blackcats defeated Northwest 45-7.

November 1, 1984

Black River Electric manager John Farris was elected vice-president of the Missouri Electric Cooperative Manager’s Association.

Erika Allen won a pumpkin carving contest. Jason Letterman finished second.

Potosi defeated the Cats 26-8.

November 3, 1999

Madison County Extension office manager Betty Weyand received a state extension award for her exceptional performance.

Shaen Pogue wrote an essay that will appear in the 2000 Missouri Official Manual.

The fall turkey harvest was slightly down.
