Adrian Van Buren Stevens, 88, of Fredericktown died October 5, 2009 at Fredericktown.

He was born September 24, 1921 in the Dry Creek Community, a son of Riley Stevens and Georgia Ellison Stevens.

On October 29, 1942 he was united in marriage to Retha Berry at Madison, Wisconsin.

Mr. Stevens was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Retha Stevens; two sisters, Aimee Richey and Violet Scheapf; and one grandson, Jeff Stevens.

He is survived by three sons, Roger Stevens and Ronald Stevens both of Fredericktown and Raymond Stevens of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Barbara DeBerry of Plainview, Texas; and one brother, Mat Stevens of Fredericktown.

He had 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Stevens was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Fredericktown and enjoyed his farm on Dry Creek.

Services were held October 8, 2009 at Follis and Sons Chapel with the Reverend Bob Graham officiating. Burial was at Marcus Memorial Park Cemetery in Fredericktown.

Pallbearers were: Dean Stevens, Dan Stevens, Chris Stevens, Dave Stevens, Charlie McCutcheon and Bobby Parsons. Honorary pallbearer was Coleman Erwin.
