Delmar Dwayne Hanks
Delmar Dwayne Hanks, 63, of Sikeston, Missouri, formerly of Steelville, Missouri died, October 21, 2009 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

He was born August 15, 1946 in Steelville to Earl Woodrow Hanks and Frances Anna (Hopkins) Hanks.

On August 16, 1992 in Sikeston, he was united in marriage to Kay Bewley who survives of the home.

Mr. Hanks will be sadly missed by his wife, Kay Hanks of Sikeston; four daughters, Christina Clark and Lisa Clark both of Fredericktown, Becky Dawson of Oahu, Hawaii and Mollie Coulter of Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri; one stepson, Don Bewley of Dexter, Missouri; three step-daughters, Cheryl Moore of Fulton, Mississippi, Deloris Crocker of Sikeston, and Crystal Edyvean of Bradenton, Florida; three brothers, Jerry Hanks of St. James, Missouri, Gary Hanks of Lohman, Missouri and Mike Hanks of Camdenton, Missouri; three sisters, Pat Hanks and Debbie Lorraine of Steelville, and Sharon Thomas of Linn, Missouri; ten grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Delmar was in the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam era where he earned three Bronze Stars.

He retired in 2006 after many years of being on the road as a truck driver with PTI in Sikeston. In his spare time, he thoroughly enjoyed fishing at their home in Wappapello Lake, hunting and most of all loving all of his grandchildren.

Funeral services were held October 24, 2009 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with the Reverend Travis Crocker officiating.

Burial was at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
