Stella Parson
Stella Parson, 93, a resident at Stockhoff Memorial Nursing Home died October 20, 2009 at Stockhoff.

She was born June 19, 1916 in Madison County, near Mill Creek, the daughter of William and Angie (Vessells) Cooper.

She was married to Alva C. Smith on February 5, 1934, he preceded her in death. She later married Roscoe Parson on September 10, 1965, he also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Parson was also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Sandra Leah Smith, Rose White and Glenda Graham; and one brother, Paul Cooper.

She is survived by one son, Donald C. Smith of Yakima, Washington; three daughters, Patricia D. Tinsley and Evelyn Smith both of Fredericktown and Mary Shelley of Farmington.

Mrs. Parson had eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Cornerstone Tabernacle Church of Fredericktown and enjoyed poetry, gospel songs, quilting, flower arranging, reading, sewing and cooking.

Services were held October 26, 2009 at Follis and Sons Chapel with Brother Eddie Spain officiating. Burial was at Antioch Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Kirby Shelley, Brett Shelley, Bruce Shelley, Ron Tinsley, John Allgier and Bryan Allgier.
