Mary Ann Simmons (Francis) Willis, 87, a resident at Stockhoff Memorial Nursing Home in Fredericktown died October 19, 2009.
She was born May 14, 1922, a daughter of Walter James and Cora Bell Simmons.
On April 13th, 1940 she married Elijah Francis who preceded her in death.
She later married Denver Paul Willis on August 16, 1967 who preceded her in death as well.
Mrs. Willis was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Howard Simmons; and three sisters Beulah Simmons, Lorene Hale, Rose Lee Cook.
Mrs. Willis is survived by two sons, Harold Tom Francis and Ronald G. Francis, three grand-daughters; four great-grandchildren; and three step-great grandchildren; two nephews and two nieces.
She was a member of the Fredericktown VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was a Charter Member of the Fredericktown Eagles Auxiliary.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking and was famous for her coconut cream pies. Her proudest moment was her 84th birthday and riding with her nephew Ed Cook on his Harley Davidson around the Courthouse Square in Fredericktown.
Mrs. Willis was baptized in the Freewill Baptist Faith and was laid to rest on October 22, 2009 at Little Vine Cemetery in Fredericktown.
Services were held October 22, 2009 at Follis and Sons Chapel with the Reverend Cecil Sheppard officiating. Eagles Auxiliary Services were held October 21, 2009 at Follis and Sons.
