Parkland Health Center hires Mineral Area College’s RN and LPN graduates for many of its nursing positions and realizes MAC will be an important provider of nurses in our region as the need for nurses grows.
For these reasons, Parkland Health Center recently donated $5,000 to MAC Foundation’s Enhancement Grant $3-for-$1 Matching Gift Campaign. The gift represents $20,000 of purchasing power toward the Sim-Man training mannequin for the Allied Health Department.
Parkland Health Center’s Assistant Administrator for Patient Care Kathy Hight says, “This gift is an investment in future nurses for our entire region. As one of the area’s largest health care providers, Parkland values MAC’s nursing programs and the pool of nursing applicants they provides. We also see the Sim-Man mannequin as an exceptional tool to enhance nurses’ training.”
“Each gift brings us closer to the Enhancement Grant goal. Gifts in the past two weeks are getting us close to the $31,000,” says Peggy Ropelle for MAC Foundation. “Donors still can quadruple the value of their donations. A $15 gift is worth $60; a $25 gift worth $100; a $250 worth $1,000 in buying power from MAC. If, by chance we exceed the goal, funds will be earmarked from the upcoming year’s Enhancement Grant Campaign.”
The Enhancement Grant Campaign will conclude February 28, 2010. Enhancement Grant giving is easy. Simply make the check payable to MAC Foundation and mail it to P.O. Box 1000, Park Hills, MO 63601. For additional information or credit or debit card payments, contact Peggy Ropelle (573) 518-2114 or Julia Goggins at (573) 518-2261; or e-mail PeggyR@MineralArea.edu or JGoggins@MineralArea.edu, respectively.
