Recreational GPS class

Fredericktown – Are you familiar with Pokémon Go? That’s a GPS game! Did you know that all new cell phones have GPS? Do you know what the oldest GPS game is? How do trespass laws effect GPS gaming? Want to learn the answers to these questions and more?

The University of Missouri Extension will be hosting a Recreational GPS Class on Nov. 28. Natural Resource Engineer Frank Wideman will teach the basics of GPS unit use and introduce some of GPS’s many applications. GPS units will be available for use the night of the class or you may bring your own.

The class will be held at the Madison County Extension Center at 137 W. Main St. in Fredericktown and will begin at 4 p.m. The class is $10 per person; scholarships are available through the Madison County Extension Council. Please call 573-783-3303 or e-mail klineju@missouri.edu to reserve a place. The University of Missouri Extension is an equal opportunity/ADA institution.
