A Morning Mixer will be held from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Farmington Regional Chamber of Commerce office.

The Morning Mixer is a networking event for members of the Farmington Regional Chamber. It is held on the second Wednesday of each month.

Each Morning Mixer is open to up to 40 chamber members. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. Refreshments will be available for registered guests, and members may choose to stay for the duration of the event or just drop by to socialize for a few minutes.

The Farmington and St. Francois County Industrial Development Authorities and the Farmington Regional Chamber have joined together to give members the opportunity to meet Anna Hui, director of the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations. Hui will discuss topics on businesses and workers, safety and harassment-free environments.

Governor Eric Greitens has put out the call to eliminate red tape and kill rules that are a hindrance rather than a help. As part of the review process, the Department of Labor is asking for your comments on its existing rules.

The governor’s charge to the state agencies is to determine if specific regulations are ineffective or unnecessary by considering whether:

• The regulation’s cost outweighs its benefits.

• The regulation is effective.

• The regulation is the least restrictive alternative.

• The regulation is based on sound, reasonably available scientific, technical, economic, or other relevant information.

• The regulation is unduly burdensome or adversely affects Missouri citizens or customers.

Seating at the Chamber office in Farmington is limited. Contact the Chamber at 573-756-3615 to reserve a seat. Light morning fare will be served.
