Dennis Odus Cloninger, 76, died March 2, 2018 at Stockhoff Nursing Home in Fredericktown. He was born March 9, 1941 at Wappapello, Missouri the son of Odus F. and Jewell I. (Kemp) Cloninger.
Mr. Cloninger was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Sonja (Young) Cloninger whom he married December 12, 1981 in Cape Girardeau; sister Mae I. Ward; nephew Ricky Whitener; and great niece Katelyn Whitener.
Survivors include sons Scott Cloninger of Fredericktown and Terry (Pam and family) Young of Cape Girardeau; daughter Betty Ann (Michael) Ligons of Ellsinore, Missouri; sister Shirley (Harold) Whitener of Fredericktown; grandchildren Whitney Busenbark, Tim Cloninger, and Kevin Cloninger; and great grandchildren Paisley Busenbark, Piper Busenbark, and Jacob Cloninger.
Dennis was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, baseball, hunting, gardening, and farming.
In lieu of flowers and food, the family request memorial donations be made to the Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Funeral services were Monday, March 5, 2018, at Follis & Sons Funeral home with the Rev. Johnny Clements officiating. Interment was at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
