The Operation Christmas Child Drop-Off Location at First Baptist Church in Fredericktown broke its goal of 2,450 by receiving 2,641 shoebox gifts.
Shoeboxes came not only from Fredericktown but also from 15 other locations in the surrounding area. Thanks to the compassion and generosity of many individuals, churches and organizaitons the goal was surpassed.
The hard work of 46 volunteers got the shoeboxes packed into cartons. With the help of the Fredericktown JROTC and the Adult I Life Group from Meadow Heights Church the cartons were loaded onto the truck donated by Statler Realty to make the journey to the Collection Center in Farmington.
Next stop for the shoeboxes was the Minneapolis Processing Center where they are prepared for shipping to their final destinations. Many hands make light work and many hands contributed to the success of the local shoebox collection this year. Each one was greatly appreciated.
